Release for Asif after six months in prison

SHEIKHUPURA, Pakistan: The father of disgraced Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif said his son released from prison on Thursday in England ended six months of pain to his family. He also supported the peaceful return to the game.

Deen said he felt no anger towards his son, despite his participation in one of the most shameful episodes in the history of Pakistan cricket.

"I am not angry with him, why am I? He will be welcome at home and if he wants to play cricket I did not stop him," said Deen.

Agent Mazhar Majeed was jailed for 32 months for his role in orchestrating the plot to bowl no-balls to order.
